Family Vacation Watercolor Sketches

In 2023, our family rented a 12 passenger van and spent a week on an epic road trip. We traveled through Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C. and spent many an hour singing “Old McDonald’s Farm” and “Down by the Bay” with the kiddos. We rented a beautiful farm house on several acres in a remote area of Maryland and spent our days driving around to different locations to enjoy the sights and sounds. While on this trip, I made a series of watercolor sketches of a few places we visited on our adventures. I haven’t worked much with watercolor, as most of my fine art focuses on black-and-white graphite drawings. However, I was determined to challenge myself and expand my skills by exploring new artistic mediums.
